UPCOMING ACTIONS
In conjunction with the homesteaders/home defenders campaign, SFPJ has vowed to support the Orchard Grove community of Boulder. Orchard Grove is Boulder's lowest-income community, but they already have what more affluent neighborhoods in Boulder aspire to achieve:
» a vibrant, thriving, involved, and self-helping neighborhood;
» sustainable initiatives in food, energy, transportation, & economic self-sufficiency;
» economic and ethnic diversity and integration;
» and a head start in the one thing we all need in order to face the coming challenges of global warming: experience in living well on less.
Now, the residents of Orchard Grove are struggling for the right to buy the mobile home park for themselves, to operate it as a non-profit, cooperative homeowners association, and to protect its open space from development.
